MicroWear is designed for demanding high traffic applications where a high degree of compressive strength and abrasion resistance is required from the microcement surface. MicroWear is an advanced mixture of our premium ECO cement, finely ground quartz powder along with 100 micron graded glass particles.
CARRcrete MicroWear is a high strength glass based layer, used predominantly as a finish coat for microcement floors where high traffic and wear is expected. Can also suitable as a base layer for microcement wall installations.
The use of 0.1mm glass grains increases compressive strength and offers superb abrasion resistance which far exceeds the levels offered by marble sands.
It should be noted that MicroWear does not produce such a cloudy appearance as the finer coatings in our range; MicroMedium MicroFine, MicroUltra. This can be an advantage where the project requires a subtle more uniform appearance.
MicroWear should be applied in two coats over the previous two coats of MicroBase All substrates should be correctly primed rigid, stable, movement and deflection free. When fully sanded, the surface leaves a very subtle micro texture which provides more slip resistance.
When mixed with water this high traffic microcement product has a really nice level of flow and easy installation on floors and walls. MicroWear has great fluid retention and rheology and is easily smoothed into the surface.
If used as a finish coat, ensure the product is fully sealed with our recommended combination of MicroSeal and MicroTough to offer the greatest levels of surface protection and abrasion resistance.
MicroWear like all CARRcrete microcement products is supplied in 5kg, 10kg, 20 Kg recycleable buckets.
